The next piece in the Bowman Lithics Signature Collection introduces a new handle type not previously seen in the collection. Using mixed woods to create a completely different handle no two will ever be the same! This knife features a 6-inch blade knapped from some particularly glassy mahogany obsidian, fresh from Oregon USA. This has then been hafted into a handle comprising Canadian birds eye maple, Thuya burl. With the heart of the handle being Cornish Oak. An homage to my Cornish roots.
As with all Signature Collection pieces, the blade is traditionally secured using resin, sinew, and hide glue—materials chosen for their proven strength and their grounding in historic blade-making practice. This method of construction remains the defining standard across the collection.
This piece is presented with a bespoke display stand, crafted from African Wenge and finished with a Moroccan Thuya Burl blade holder. The stand adds contrast and depth, complementing the darker tones of the blade while continuing the collection’s emphasis on considered presentation.
